Adya Yoga and Ayurveda opened doors to the Richmond community in January 2016. The fundamental identity of the studio is based upon yoga as it was originally practiced, as a system of body movement, breath control, self-inquiry, meditation, devotion, and ritual to connect us to the the divine source from which we came. The founder, Elizabeth Malaugh, was introduced to yoga more than 15 years ago by a teacher who inspired Elizabeth by how she lived her life (as a yogi with a deep spiritual practice but still very much involved in family life). Through many years of training, traveling, and teaching, Elizabeth has gained extensive experience in the power of yoga to transform lives for good. She currently studies under the guidance of Yogarupa Rod Stryker and the living lineage of the sri vidya tradition. Ever the curious student, she continues to travel across the globe to deepen her knowledge of the ancient sciences of yoga and ayurveda. In Richmond, VA, Adya Yoga and Ayurveda has an incredible family of yoga teachers who bring a pure and authentic desire of sharing the practice of yoga with their students. Our teacher, our students, and our community are like a family. We welcome you to join us!
