Chaturanga Dandasana - Intro to Ashtanga Yoga
1:00-3:00 Saturday Oct. 14
This workshop is inspired and based on The Ashtanga Yoga Tradition. The main focus of this workshop is introducing new or current Yoga students to Ashtanga Yoga and breaking down Chaturanga Dandasana. The first hour of the class will be based on exploring Surya Namaskar A & B, Strength Conditioning exercises, drills and Vinyasas(flowing sequences). We will discuss in depth the alignment, placing special emphasis on the three concepts of the Breath(Pranayam), the Gaze( Drishti) and the Posture.(Asana). The last hour of the class will be focused exclusively on Chaturanga Dandasana & it's Progressions. We will break down this posture step by step, emphasizing the proper alignment and going through the necessary drills. This hour will be a lot of self exploration, as I will give individual assurance and tips to each student. Come with an open mind and rested body!
